Ancient therapies to soothe the modern human.
How we treat you
Your practitioner is well-trained in three different modalities.
-
Acupuncture - three years of formal school, plus three national board exams, plus more than a decade of constant training ever since. Clinically, I personally have treated patients in more than 15,000 sessions involving thousands of people.
-
Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine - two additional years of formal schooling.
-
Frequency Specific Microcurrent - Certified Training in FSM with Carolyn McMakin

Medicine, Reinvented.

Acupuncture is harder to study using the double-blind methodology of modern science, for several reasons. The key thing to know is that there's not an adequate "sham" method of acupuncture(source). Acupressure (even on parts of the body that are NOT considered acupuncture points) is effective in helping people. More here.
-
More persuasive studies (in my opinion) are those that compare acupuncture to "usual care" - the interventions that people usually are given in a medical scenario.
-
Acupuncture versus usual care for allergic rhinitis
-
Even medical science disputes the efficacy of different Western Medical Interventions:
-
Western medical interventions are not without risk.
-
Surgical, pharmaceutical, and other interventions can cause harm.
-
-
Acupuncture has been studied as being very safe (when used by well-trained individuals!)
-
Traditional Chinese herbal formulas should only be given by practitioners who have formally studied these herbs, rather than purchased from the internet without a current prescription.

What is FSM?
Frequency Specific Microcurrent is one thousand times less powerful than a TENS unit, which puts it in the same level as our own body's electrical system (as measured by an EKG or and EEG). But this treatment is effective and powerful, nonetheless, when applied by a trained practitioner. Please read Carolyn McMakin's book for more detail on this therapy. Here are some relevant points to know about FSM:
-
It is very low risk - if done incorrectly, the therapy will produce no harmful effects.
-
It is non-invasive and not at all painful.
-
When done properly, it can require more hands-on time to be effective - at the very least, you'll need repeated sessions.
-
When done properly, it is quite magical in effect. The key is that the practitioner be able to diagnose the patient correctly. Sometimes, though, diagnosis in any endeavor requires trial and error.
Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, and FSM are synergistic. They can all be used together to help someone most effectively.
